Professionals working with patients needing head coverage after surgery can place positioning pads around the inside of this clear shell. In an area of recent surgery for example, pads would be placed around a wound or surgical site to keep helmet shell elevated and away from the affected area.

Clear polycarbonate shell, edged with soft foam is then lined with self adhesive foam pads in various thicknesses, and ventilation holes are added. Suggestions for placement of the pads are included with the helmet. If this helmet must be worn in bed we customize it by removing the back of the shell creating a "half helmet".
