Solid back plate has two (2) straps which buckle around the back of the seating unit. The Head Support is attached to velcro release front plate. When a quick release is desireable, the velcro release allows the head support to be removed quickly from the seating unit. For a permanent non-breakaway mount, two (2) screws (included) can be used to connect the front and back plate. This option is up to the user.
