Convaid refers to their special needs strollers as wheelchairs. The reason for this is that the strollers have many of the components of a wheelchair. They have swing-away removable foot rests, arm rests, and other options such as lateral supports. Many of the Convaid wheelchairs/strollers also have the transit option whereby circular brackets can be attached to the base of chair enabling the wheelchair/stroller to be tied down for transit in a bus or van. Additionally, the Convaid chair has the remarkable feature of being foldable; allowing the chair to be folded for easy transport/storage.

The Convaid CuddleBug offers the latest advancements in Early Intervention Seating, with a stylish look you and your child will love. A multitude of positioning options are available, and for the first time, the Tilt, Recline and Hi/Lo features are available on the same chair - you will no longer need 2 pieces of equipment to achieve these functions!

This is a completely new product in the Convaid line. It is sized and styled to be used by infants from 6 months – 2.5 years. The base will grow to accept two seat module sizes (5”-10” seat depth, and 6”-12” width). The base allows 4” of height adjustment, providing hi and lo settings to facilitate interaction between the user and other children or caregivers who are seated on the floor or low benches. The tilt range is 10-45 degrees and back adjusts from 90-160 degrees of recline. The push handle is height/angle adjustable.

The seat portion comes with a standard upholstery cover, 3 point lap belt, and angle adjustable leg support with one piece footplate. Options include lateral hip blocks (stacked foam), head and torso supports, anterior chest support, medial knee support, height adj arms, foot positoners, calf panel, larger tires, canopy, medical necessity/storage tray (which has very low ground clearance but is “soft” mounted) and support/positioning tray. The headrest is adjustable along the length of the back. The wings can be bent into position but may not stand up to a very strong asymmetrical pressure.
