Ideally a chair should encourage sitting skills while the child is participating in other activities. The Push Handle on the smallest Advancement Chair allows caregivers to move it comfortably. On all chairs, the prompts, straps and supports can be removed as new skills are achieved.
Features:
Arm Prompts
The Arm Prompts attach anywhere and in any position on the L-bar, giving the child upper body support and encouraging head control. Arm Anchors for use on a table, are also available. |
Lbars
The L-bar swings out of the way so a child can be seated or transferred without interference from it. |
Forward Lean
The Advancement Chair in the forward-leaning position, with Footboard pushed back, encourages a child to stand. |
Foot Board
Footboard slides forward from a recessed position under the chair. It locks at 1" increments. You can buy the footboard with or without sandals. |
Casters Sturdy locking casters enable convenient movement between learning locations.
Adjustment Points
Adjustment points are color-coded in bright blue. More on Adjustments. |
Center Mounted Strap
The padded center-mounted strap assists in achieving correct, comfortable, pelvic positioning. |
Adjustment

Adjustable Backrest
The adjustable backrest can move through a 15° range. Use the oval knobs at the base of the backrest to adjust the angle. |

Arm Prompts
The Arm Prompts can rotate and tilt in space to accommodate almost any arm contracture. Attach Prompts anywhere along the straight sections of the L-bar, with the clamp facing in or out, for multiple positioning options. |

Tilt Action
The tilt handle pivots the entire seat up to 20° forward and 5° backward. Tilt handle is located under the seat, labeled "tilt". |

Seat Height
To adjust height, turn the marked handle under the seat - it's one-handed! |

Seat Depth
To adjust seat depth, loosen the knobs that are under the back of the seat. Tighten the knobs to lock backrest in the new position. |
Accessories

Headrests
Headrests come in two shapes, flat and contoured, with built-in vertical adjustment. This picture is of the flat headrest. The contoured one is the same shape as the one for Rifton Seating System.

Leg Prompts or Abductor
The padded Abductor separates the knees and adjusts forward or back. It can also be removed. The Leg Prompts are an alternative to the Abductor and give more leg support. Straps pass around front of leg just below the knee, securing the leg to a pad behind the calf. They help support a user being assisted to a standing position. Leg Prompts and Abductor cannot be used simultaneously, they use the same bracket.

Trunk Support
The Trunk Support pads can be adjusted in width, angle, and height. The strap on the Trunk Support can be adjusted to control trunk movement and it releases when either end is lifted up.

Sandals and Wedges
Sandals and Wedges lift or adjust the feet of the child. Configure them yourself with the unique "stack and latch" feature. Open the latches to reconfigure, then close each latch to secure the Wedge or Sandal. Specify "Footboard with Sandals" to order sandals. Wedges can be bought separately. |
Remove Prompts

Prompt Removal
Prompts can be removed as the child acquires sitting skills and control. |
