Mounted in the hallway and under the hand rail, the folding seat utilizes a self locking mechanism that folds the seat up and secures it against hallway wall when not in use. The wall mounted bracket guides the U shaped yoke freely up and down, resulting in a low pressure constant spring action to raise and lower the seat.

The wall mounted Merry Seat Yourself is intended to be affixed to the long hallways of nursing homes so that residents are able to sit down and rest when they get tired during the long walk down the hallway. The Merry Seat Yourself offers a seat for the residents to rest on as they are walked to dine and to activities. The Merry Seat Yourself also addresses the architectural cultural changes that should be made in older facilities, by simply adding seating for residents in the hallways. The white high density polyethylene seat top is 18" x 16" x 1/2" thick. The Merry Seat Yourself comes with two side handles to enable the resident to easily sit down and then get up from a sitting position to walk once again, encouraging independent ambulation.
