The heavier (8-ounce) eating utensils (knife, fork, teaspoon, and tablespoon) help to stabilize a tremorous and shaking hand, allowing the user more control while eating and giving needed proprioceptive sensory feedback to help them better understand the information regarding their hand position in relation with the eating utensils.
The thicker, weighted handle also assists people with arthritis issues, or individuals with health issues that can cause a diminished grip strength. The thicker handles enable more of a gripping area and better control of the utensil.
