Built in an extremely robust manner, the Hannah Safety Bed is designed for children with restless to very noticeable motor activity who need a safe place to receive care and therapy. Extra high rails prevent unsafe exit in many sizes with a large interior space, and natural beech wood. Please call for shipping quotes. Customization, set-up, or custom padding are also available upon request for an additional fee. Choose between the Hannah 135 or 170 series (which is taller) in natural or color with many options ranging from non-electric to semi-electric. Overall heights range from 72 inches to 86 inches.
When children are able to sufficiently move around in their bed, the perception of depth and propriocetpion is stimulated, which is essential for brain development and facilitation of nerve endings. Special needs children frequently face a challenge in this area. Those at greater risk of falling out or hurting themselves benefit greatly from additional railings at varying heights and the option of clear Plexiglass panels or padding. Natural materials that can be lower in allergens like solid beech wood coated in sweat and saliva-resistant paints are what we bring to the safety bed market with our line from KayserBetten. Soft, warm, silky wood is much more conducive to health and growth than institutional appearing metal. Safety beds are more than just a sleeping surface. They are a fully functioning location for care, therapy, interaction and safe haven of play.
Meeting these special requirements for children with motor skills that may be restricted from spasticity or seizures, gave birth to the entire line of KayserBetten many years ago, in the form of the first combination playpen and sleeping area with high safety rails. Many children need extra care during the night that requires parents and caregivers to spend a lot of time together in and around the bed. A larger size that allows room for therapies, spending time together and a weight limit that supports their combined weight is beneficial to both. Optional climb out protection with nylon net is also available.
