More Information

The Liberty Thumb Spica is a firm yet flexible thumb and wrist support that secures the thumb IP (interphalangeal) and MP (metacarpophalangeal) joints. This splint is made of lightweight trilaminate foam with wide stretch loop straps and a soft lining. It offers protection, support, and positioning of the thumb and wrist for painful and inflammatory conditions. The perforated foam contours to the forearm and provides ventilation for cool, comfortable wear. Modifications can easily be made with scissors and a heat gun. This material will not fray and it can be used for post-surgical and post-fracture positioning. The extended thumb design holds the thumb IP and MP joints securely.

The Liberty Wrist and Thumb Spica measures approximately 9" long. To size, measure width of the MP (first knuckle) joints.

To find the correct size, measure the circumference of your thumb.
Small/Medium- 2.5" - 3.25" inches
Medium/Large- 3.25 - 4" inches

splint offers great stability and protection for thumb, its lightweight and adjustable. I did not have the use of a heat gun, however, and wasnt able to relieve several points of pressure that created lots of discomfort after a few days. I ordered the womens small/medium, perhaps I needed the medium/large despite being a small (120 lb) person.
