National Ramp Steel Modular Wheelchair Ramps are ADA-compliant, durable wheelchair access ramps that can be installed in hours and left in place temporarily or permanently. National Ramp Steel Modular Wheelchair Ramps are easy to disassemble and move or remove according to the needs of the user. Each ramp has an open mesh surface that provides excellent traction and dries quickly, preventing corrosion and galvanized silver-finish handrails to reflect heat. The legs can be adjusted in increments to provide the best possible support regardless of the type of supporting surface. National Ramp Steel Modular Wheelchair Ramps have a stylish black powder-coated finish. Assembly required. For NEW ramp construction, you MUST purchase a Starter Kit in addition to ramp(s). When replacing a National Ramp with a new National Ramp of the same size (length) then you may not need another Starter Kit.
More Information on the ADA Compliant Steel Modular Wheelchair Ramp by National Ramp:
National Ramp Steel Modular Wheelchair Ramps are covered by a 3-year full warranty from the manufacturer. These ramps require no maintenance, and will not rot, rust, splinter, or corrode. To be fully ADA-compliant, a rest platform must be installed for every 30 ft.
The required starter kit includes top and bottom transition plates, end loops, and a starter mounting bracket, to make installation easier.
Each ramp section is 36 in. wide and has handrails mounted at a height within ADA regulations (34.5 in.) on both sides. There is one leg on each side at the bottom of each ramp section.
For Residential use, the ADA recommends a 2:12 slope, which means every 2 inches of vertical rise requires one foot of ramp. For example, 24 inches of rise requires a 12 foot ramp. For Commercial Use, the ADA recommends a 1:12 slope, which means every 1 inch of vertical rise requires one foot of ramp. For example, 24 inches of rise requires a 24 foot ramp.
IMPORTANT NOTE: It is your responsibility to ensure that your ramp is compliant with all local and state codes. We strongly urge you to check with the proper authority in your area to ensure code compliance.
Most local and state authorities require a rest platform when a ramp exceeds 30 feet in length. For existing ramps, this may not be required. Again, please check with the proper authority in your area to determine what is required.
