The P44 Stepper Exercise Machine quickly and easily attaches to any standard chair or wheelchair. It can be used almost anywhere, and is easily wheeled around from patient to patient. Provides cardio exercise for patients who are limited to a recumbent, seated position that cannot use other types of equipment. **FREE SHIPPING on this product in the continental US plus a small handling fee**
The P44 Stepper provides non-weight bearing, isotonic rehabilitation and exercise of the legs through a simple leg extension. The major benefit is that the legs are independent of one another, allowing for different stroke lengths, stroke rates, and resistive forces to be set for each leg. The independent leg motion allows it to be used like a seated leg press, focusing particularly on the quadricep muscle.
The advantage of using a stepper as opposed to a cycle is that a stepper can accommodate a decreased knee range of motion whereas a cycle demands at least 110 degrees to complete the circle. But all other steppers link the strokes so that when one leg goes forward, the other must come back. There are situations when this linkage is undesirable and P44 allows for independent strokes, allowing each leg to work to its own ability, whether that be alternating, together, or even one at a time.
Every P44 Stepper Exercise Machine comes standard with the independent leg motion, independent resistance setting (up to 50 lbs. per side), foot pedals with straps, and the chair attachment bar that doubles as a front steering handle to move P44 around.
Weighing in at only 25 pounds and with a footprint measuring a mere 26" x 18", P44 fits into any space. And the rear handle makes pick-up easy. P44 attaches to any 4-legged chair, including wheelchairs, and the 360 degree casters make it easy to seat the user first before attachment.
During transportation, the chair attachment bar slips into a slot in the front and is used as the steering handle. The resistance can be set up to 50 lbs. per side and is constant throughout the stroke instead of being speed-dependent. The pedal stops allow the starting position to be set to accommodate the users height and range of motion and can also be used to limit knee flexion.
