The Rifton Wrist Anchor is designed similar to the hand anchor by Rifton but includes a wrist pad and strap. The purpose of the wrist stabilizer is to retain the hand in place without compromising the patient's comfort. The handgrip of the Rifton Wrist Anchor is ergonomically designed, providing a comfortable grip that assists the user with maintaining their grip. The wrist stabilization tool is made for those with upper extremity tonus, allowing the patient to work on decreasing the tone in that arm.

The Rifton Wrist Anchor is structured to accommodate individuals that struggle with stabilizing their upper extremities, including their shoulder girdle like the hand anchor by Rifton. The wrist stabilization tool includes the hand anchor, a wrist pad, and wrist strap. Though the Rifton Wrist Anchor is small, it plays a large role in assisting those with disabilities improve their functional abilities in the classroom, community, and home. Like the rest of the Rifton anchor family, the wrist stabilizer is equipped with a sturdy suction cup under the base which must be place on smooth, flat, and horizontal surfaces.

To illustrate the importance of using the Rifton Wrist Anchor, take into consideration a patient that has spastic hemiplegia, which falls under the mobility impairment of cerebral palsy (CP). This patient struggles with feeding herself and is constantly distracted by having to concentrate on the way she is sitting. With the wrist stabilization tool, she is able to focus more on the activity versus her posture because it assist with trunk and head alignment control.
