Using a special adapter plate, the Hensinger Head Support is mounted to standard Otto Bock hardware. Option A: Includes Hensinger Head Support, Occipital Headrest, Otto Bock Hardware and Danmar Hardware.
Additionally, a "second step" head rest is added above the Hensinger for increased occipital support. This combination allows a variety of angles in order to achieve the best possible position for the clients head. Postural tone may be reduced by moving the Hensinger into slight flexion and encouraging chin tuck, especially when head and neck extension rule. The Hensinger has substantial adjustments in the vertical and horizontal planes, besides being able to be tilted laterally if desired. By using this design, there is more room to mount trunk support straps too. Head support must only be used after proper trunk support is achieved. With this combination head support system, better mid-line positioning can be achieved, especially in asymmetrical contoured seating systems. A vertical bar is mounted to the horizontal bars with Danmar mount brackets & screws as illustrated. Sturdy leather cover wraps around the Hensinger adapter plate so that this unit has the "break away" feature. Hardware is also supplied for conversion to a non-breakaway head support if desired. This is a Complete Unit. Everything is as pictured.
