Reduce PIP joint flexion contractures associated with acute injuries, such as sports injury sprains or post-surgical repair of the PIP joint. Curved neoprene tube applies a 30 degree reverse angle under the PIP joint, simulating a spring-like mechanism. Gentle lift is distributed along the entire volar surface of the digit. Snug fit provides warmth to relax tight, tendinous fingers. Helps to remodel scar tissue. Uniform circumferential pressure restricts fluid to reduce edema. Use to offset constant positioning of fingers in PIP flexion as seen in spinal cord injury at the level of C7 or higher. Slips on easily. Comfortable to wear for long periods of time. Contraindicated for open wounds. Can be trimmed and contoured to fit web spaces.
To size, measure circumference of the PIP joint:
X-Small 1-3/4in to 2in (4.5 to 5.1cm),
Small 2in to 2-1/2in (5.1 to 6.4cm),
Medium 2-1/2in to 2-3/4in (6.4 to 7.0cm),
Medium Plus 2-3/4in to 3in (7.0 to 7.6cm),
Large 3in to 3-1/2in (7.6 to 8.9cm).
