Brian O. Mohika, BSN, RN

Brian Mohika is an experienced medical professional from Boston, MA. A registered nurse, veteran of the United States Air Force, and recipient of a radiology degree and a nursing degree from the Northern Essex Community College and the University of Massachusetts-Lowell respectively, Brian Mohika has been working as a Radiology Technologist for 10 years, serving hundreds of patients from infants to geriatrics. Over the course of this work, Brian has encountered many patients who struggle to find a convenient method of wearing their daily catheter bags.

In response to this challenge, he developed CathWear, a company of which he is now the CEO, to provide as many people as possible with a medical device that can house catheter leg bags safely and discreetly. CathWear is a beautifully simple, comfortable set of underwear that offers a convenient pocket to hold one’s leg bags while fitting easily underneath normal clothing, while providing a channel for the necessary tubing to feed through. By removing unsanitary hook-and-loop closures and elastic straps, CathWear is reducing infection rates, increasing savings, and, most importantly, restoring independence and quality of life for patients who require catheters.

Brian’s company is focused on making people’s lives better, and his life outside of the company is no different. As a nurse and military vet, Brian has devoted his adult life to serving others, and his book, Let It Flow: One Nurse’s Entrepreneurial Journey, provides a valuable window into how he found a way to solve common problems as a nurse-turned-inventor. Through his many endeavors, Brain has proven that a people-first mentality can in fact be the recipe for all kinds of success.
