Ruey-Kang Chang, MD, MPH

Ruey-Kang Chang grew up in Taiwan and came to the U.S. in 1992. He completed Master’s in Public Health, residency training in Pediatrics, and fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology—all at UCLA. He has been faculty at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA since 1999. Ruey is a prolific clinician, researcher, inventor and entrepreneur. Over his academic career, he received over $10 million research funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), published 70 peer review research papers, and has over 30 issued or pending U.S. and international patents. Ruey founded QT Medical in 2013. His initial goal was to create a new ECG for babies. Along the way, his team had reinvented the century-old ECG and made it possible for everyone to do an ECG anywhere when there are needs. He is passionate about democratizing this most useful test for the heart, so that everyone will have the tools they need to take care their heart health.
