3 Innovative Products to Reduce or Eliminate Snoring

Everyone knows someone who snores. If you don’t, there’s a chance that person could be you!

In intimate relationships, snoring is often the catalyst for interpersonal tension. If you’ve ever repeatedly woken from a dead sleep to shake your partner out of a particularly heavy pattern of throaty breathing, then you know this to be true.

Snoring can be the elephant in the room of any relationship - but it doesn't have to be.

RehabMart is pleased to share with customers three unique product options, each designed to combat the various causes of snoring in distinct ways.

What causes snoring?

Lots of factors may cause a person to snore.

Snoring, in addition to sometimes being hereditary (meaning it’s coded into your DNA and no one’s fault, really) can also be developed or brought on by a host of physical events.

If you’re a man or woman with a neck that’s 17 inches around or greater, chances are, the excess fatty tissue around your neck is compressing your airway when you lie down. In these situations, an individual may begin snoring after a period of weight gain, but stop snoring again once the weight has been lost.

Sleep apnea, a sleep disorder causing a collapse in the airways, often results in temporary breathing pauses followed by periods of intense snoring.

Snoring can also be caused by a deviated septum - when the bridge in the middle of the nose has been broken and healed crookedly, causing an uneven air intake every time the person inhales.

The health effects of snoring

In addition to creating tension in intimate relationships, snoring can also have a profound effect on the person snoring.

In the same way that slumbering next to a person who snores can prevent a person from sleeping through the night, the individual who snores is also impacted by the sounds of their own breathing. At a certain noise level, the body cannot maintain a deep REM cycle, and will pull the sleeper out of the most refreshing (and necessary) range of sleep - resulting in daytime fatigue, headache, and irritability.

Farther, with the exception of a crooked or deviated septum, snoring is usually indicative of an underlying medical problem.

Sleep apnea, a condition which causes a person to temporarily stop breathing during sleep, may be an unseen origin of snoring due to the intermittent airway blockage that defines the diagnosis.

However, there is good news: in the realm of corrective medical conditions, snoring is a simple condition to amend.

Whatever the cause, the myth that snoring is a lifelong, cure-less condition no longer exists, thanks to innovative medical advancements and a variety of anti-snoring product options.

Three products that can reduce or eliminate snoring

Rhinomed Mute Nasal Plugs

Discreet, comfortable, and non-invasive, the Rhinomed Mute Nasal Plugs fit snugly inside the user’s nostrils, gently expanding the nasal passage to permit greater airflow and reduce snoring.

For users with deviated septums, this simple tool could mean the difference between a night spent snoring and a quiet, peaceful sleep.

Goodnite Anti-Snore Pillow

Arguably the most progressive and dynamic invention to appear on the sleep market in recent time is the Goodnite Anti-Snore Pillow - a pillow that intuitively senses a change in the room’s ambient noise level (due to snoring), and adjusts the sleeper’s head accordingly.

For individuals who snore due to poor cranial posture and a compressed airway, the repositioning of the head could be the act necessary to eliminate snoring once and for all.

CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) Machine

Designed specifically for the treatment of sleep apnea, CPAP machines operate by blowing constant pressurized air into the throat of the user, creating and maintaining an open airway during sleep.

If you have been diagnosed with sleep apnea, a CPAP machine is arguably the most beneficial tool to restore proper breathing patterns and ensure an abundant night of rest.
