Rebotec Walkers: An Honest Review From a Girl with CP

Sophia is a 17-year-old girl with Cerebral Palsy.

Because of the mobility challenges she’s encountered living with CP, she’s been using walkers for about 15 years, and currently uses the Crocodile Posterior Walker from Snug Seat.

As the foremost expert on walkers here at Rehabmart, we asked her to test out some Rebotec walkers and give us her thoughts. She agreed to test out two of their walkers, the Polo Plus-T Folding Rollator and the Yano Wheeled Forearm Walker.

Both the Polo Plus-T and the Yano are wheeled walkers. The Polo Plus-T is a standard grip walker, while the Yano is a forearm walker. She tested each for a week, and gave us her opinions on both at the end.

The first thing she noted about both walkers is that they’re incredibly lightweight and easy to maneuver around with. Both have small turning radiuses and sturdy brakes that help make you feel secure while you’re walking.

She also found throughout the weeks of testing that both walkers are really easy to fold and stow in the van, then get back out again when needed. They both feature a simple string-pull design that allows you to fold down the walker in one swift motion.

Each walker features a sturdy seat that is actually very supportive and easy to flip up and down when needed. They also both feature a walker bag that Sophia found to be very functional - she noted that many walker bags are flimsy and difficult to use, while the ones from Rebotec are sturdy and quite convenient.

The Polo Plus-T was Sophia’s favorite of the two, so much so that she’s still using it. She finds it to be the perfect thing to use around the house with its lightweight design and incredibly small turning radius.

Her favorite features are the fast, firm brakes that can stop on a dime, and the large, durable wheels that absorb shock without transferring the force to her wrists, and make it easy to maneuver with no problems.

The Yano received less glowing reviews, but that’s simply because Sophia doesn’t care much for forearm walkers. Although, she recognized that the same features she loves about the Polo Plus-T would make the Yano an excellent option for people with less upper body strength.

She noted that the lightweight design and ease of folding make it really convenient to travel with, a feature that’s not common in most other forearm walkers, and the range of grip handles allows you to easily customize the walker to your own comfort.

Sophia’s Final Thoughts

Overall, Sophia was impressed by Rebotec’s design. She still prefers her Crocodile for most applications, as she finds she has more freedom with a posterior walker, but she is enjoying the Polo Plus-T as a more compact option for use at home.

She wanted to highlight the great seat, functional walker bag, and single-motion fold design, which is what she said made both Rebotec walkers really stand out from others she’s tried.

If you’re looking for a walker for the first time, Sophia says she usually tries to find something that is both sturdy and lightweight. She likes a good seat that’s supported from the bottom, and appreciates a larger wheel, which helps to reduce shock on the wrist and promote easy mobility.
