Can I fully submerge this item in the water?

Answer: The raiser is intended to lift or lower patients in/out of a chair. The cushion can be cleaned but would not be ideal for bathing if that is what they are asking. There are no stoppers for avoid sliding. The bathing cushion has the added safety provisions to be used in a bathtub.
