Can the commode pail be removed from the side (without the person getting up)? Is the footrest removable?

Answer: The pail on this commode may only be removed from the front/rear, so it would be difficult to remove to the front due to the individual's legs being in the way, but it could be removed from the rear. The footrest can be removed from the chair permanently but as far as adding/removing repeatedly it is not designed for that.

We offer a similar chair Model# VL SC 17 P that has a pail that can be removed from the sides, but the seat is not padded. Additionally, there is a snap-on footrest that can be added and removed as necessary Part#: SC SNFR

Is it possible to use it on a regular toilette?

Answer: The commode pail is removable and the clearance over a toilet is 17".

This was bought to be sent to the assisted living facility where my parent lives. The employees who assist in bathing them have expressed that they love and appreciate the chair because of the commode basin which helps them stay sanitary while bathing the patient who has mobility and toilet issues.
