Heather Harrison

School: Georgia State University
Major: Nursing

I recently graduated in May, from Georgia State University. I am currently enrolled at Georgia Peidmont Technical College, trying to pursue my interest in Nursing. I was not able to get into the nursing program this semester, but I am taking a class to get my GPA back to being competitive, and will retake the TEAs exam in September. I plan to either be a pediatric nurse or work in a field that involves special needs children. I just want to make kids feel better, mentally, physically, and make sure they have a smile on their face. I applied to Georgia College and State University in hopes of getting into their nursing program! I am getting married in May (yay), and all of my family and friends are really supportive of me in all my craziness with school, and planning a wedding. I couldn't be more thankful for the people I have around me!

Essay: Voice commands on cars/phones

In our world today, we have many new things going on. Technology is increasing, and growing, and changing all the time. Everyone wants to own the latest phone, or the newest cars. But why? We always want to be "in touch" with the new world today, and I think that one day it will be very beneficial. There are many children, or even adults who are not able to go to school or have jobs because they are disabled. I believe that one day the technology we have will help by voice commands. This is where you are able to direct commands to either Siri (on iPhones), Cortona (HP i believe), or even the voice commands you have on your vehicles. (If new). This would totally rock because then people wouldn't feel limited to what they could do, or what they are able to do. It would also show employees that no matter who the person is, they can do the job. As long as they try, and push, they will make it! Technology is soon to surpass all of how us, the human race, sees it. It will be very beneficial to those who need it, and I can only hope one day these thoughts are able to come true. It will hold great opportunities for children to be able to go to school, and be able to pursue further education in college, and then out into the world with their first job. Adults with this same problem can be able to care for their families, or even improve their working skills. If I could help in any way with this production I definitely would. I hope one day technology is able to provide these tasks for people who are willing to learn, and push themselves!
