Tangible Object Cards and Lex Communication Bundle

Tangible Object Cards (tm) pair a vocabulary word with a meaningful object securely fastened to the card. Each card has an object with intrinsic value, making cause-effect easier to teach, as well as maintain general interest. Tangible Object Cards (tm) were thoughtfully designed with blind/low vision needs in mind. Objects are easy to recognize and discriminate for the early learner.

Choose your bundle of either 20 or 50 object cards (subjects listed below). Each Tangible Object Card (tm) comes with a blank, credit card sized symbol card so you can customize it with your favorite communication symbols or pictures. We also offer symbol cards with SymbolStix (tm) in full color or high-contrast Black & White to add to your Tangible Object Cards (tm)! The Lex (tm) is a single-message communication aid with three levels. Natural-voice messages can be recorded (one per level) and stored for single-message playback (up to one minute of record time). The Lex (tm) is pressure sensitive and activates without a click "noise"½. This device has great sound quality and messages can be recorded in any order. Used in conjunction with the Tangible Object Cards (tm) Communication System, the Lex (tm) enhances Object communication.

Example usage - Visual Schedule

Visual schedules are important intervention strategies for individuals with Autism.
In order for visual schedules to be successful, we must use the visual cueing system most appropriate to the user.

This can be difficult especially if the individual is using objects or transitioning from objects to pictures.
Object Communication Cards are a great resource for such situation.
Use the Lex to add voice output to this type of visual schedule.
This further customizes this system to the user.
Object Communication Cards are great for making schedules.
You can use the cards alone, or pair them with the Lex to make talking schedules.
