Protekt Aire 8000BA Bariatric Pressure Relief Mattress

The Protekt (tm) Aire 8000BA uses low air loss and alternating pressure technologies to address the causes of pressure ulcers so they can be treated and prevented. Low air loss circulates air across the surface of the mattress to prevent moisture buildup and keeps the patient's skin cool and dry. The alternating pressure function ensures pressure is never concentrated on one part of the body for too long. This helps the blood circulate and flow to wound sites for easier healing and prevention of new ulcers from forming.

The Protekt (tm) Aire 8000BA mattress features dual layers of air cells, with the bottom layer constantly inflated to prevent the patient from having to lie on a hard surface in case of a power failure. The mattress also has a pillow top that stabilizes the patient's head and neck while the alternating pressure function is engaged. A CPR pull tab allows the mattress to be quickly deflated when needed.

The control panel on the air pump allows caregivers to adjust the settings for pressure and time intervals. The alternating pressure can be set to intervals of 10, 15, 20, or 25 minutes. A low pressure alarm goes off if pressure in the mattress falls too low. A static mode option inflates the mattress completely for a firm surface, making transfer in and out of the bed easier.
