The HomeCare Rotor Assist Rotating Bed is a revolutionary system designed specifically to assist patients with limited mobility with transitioning into and out of bed. As you would expect from a powered bed, the HomeCare Rotor Bed is capable of lying flat, elevating the head section to sit up, and elevating the legs for patient comfort and medical necessity. Unlike other standard powered beds, however, with just the touch of a button, the HomeCare Rotor Bed will adjust the patient to a sitting position with the legs slightly elevated, and will then rotate on the bed frame until the patient is in an exit position from which that can easily get to their feet. This method of transfer requires no sliding, scooting, or straining from the patient, and also eliminates any lifting from the caregiver to eliminate caregiver-related injuries.
Three independent motors automatically conform to the contours of the bed's position and provide sufficient power to support up to 350 pounds. All positional adjustments are controlled via a simple, straightforward hand remote; an integrated clip on the back of the remote can attach to the headboard, the footboard, or either of the handrails, ensuring its always within easy reach. Caregivers can also lock the remote to prevent patients from making any adjustments without supervision.
Dual side rails provide a secure hand-hold for patients during transitions, and both upper rails can be lowered and lower rails can be removed out of the way when not needed. The headboard and footboard feature a sleek wooden finish and can be detached.
The mattress is made of soft-yet-supportive foam and embedded with honeycomb-style gel cushions in the hip and shoulder areas to ensure optimal comfort and enhance the mitigation of pressure ulcers in those sensitive areas. A set of soft, machine-washable linens are included with the mattress; additional sets can also be purchased separately.
