Product Overview:

The nurse call system compatible Bed-Check Model VR Fall Prevention Monitor Control Unit enables healthcare providers to analyze patient movement, create a customized personal care plan, and prevent falls. With the ability to record information pertaining to the last 24 alarm events, caregivers can discover why and when movement is sensed and create a customized care plan that takes this information into account. The Bed-Check Model VR Fall Prevention Monitor Control Unit also includes many customizable features that prevent caregiver alarm fatigue as well as irritability in patients from loud alarms.

These features include an alarm delay that allows the patient to move in bed without signaling a false alarm, and a Hold feature allows the caregiver to readjust the patient or assist them out of bed without sounding an alarm. Alarm tone and volume can also be adjusted. The Bed-Check Model VR Fall Prevention Monitor Control Unit powers through a standard 110 V AC wall outlet.

More Information

How the Bed-Check Model VR Fall Prevention Monitor Control Unit Works
There is no On or Off switch, which saves a step for the caregiver and ensures that the unit is always turned on. When weight is placed on the Sensor Mat Pad, the unit automatically starts monitoring once the caregiver presses the Reset button. If the alarm control unit is disconnected from the Sensormat Pad or nurse call cord while in monitoring mode, the alarm will sound. If a power outage occurs, all settings are retained by the unit.

Assessment Mode
In order to provide better analysis of a patient's movement patterns, the Bed-Check VR records the last 24 events. Other retrievable data collected includes the patient/resident ID, dates/times, and staff response times. With this information, personalized care plans can be fine-tuned based on the patient's habits.

Customizable Alarm Settings
The Bed-Check VR includes 7 different alarm tones to choose from. This feature ensures that an alarm sound can be chosen that does not sound like other facility alarms. Ten different volume settings allow the control unit alarm to be loud enough to hear or quieter so as to not disturb the patient. An alarm delay function can be programmed to start monitoring from 1-20 seconds after the weight is placed on the Sensormat Pad. Delays can also be set for when patient movement is sensed. Caregivers can choose a delay of 1-9 seconds for the alarm to sound when movement is detected, which works well for customizing according to patient activity levels.

Nurse Call Compatible
The Bed-Check VR can be connected to a nurse call system, allowing the unit to be silent at the bedside and instead sound an alarm at the nurse call station. There are 4 different nurse call system settings, and if the nurse call cord is disconnected from the unit, an alarm sounds.

Temporary Hold Function
The caregiver can press the Hold button to prevent the alarm from sounding. This feature comes in handy while making transfers and helps keep the patient from becoming irritated with hearing the alarm sound. Caregivers can become fatigued by alarms as well, so the Hold feature also prevents the exposure to frequent alarms from causing desensitization.

Installation
The Classic-Check Bed-Check can be mounted with a Velcro strap or wire holster to a bed headboard, bed frame, headwall, or the back of a chair.
