TherAdapt 2-in-1 Booster Seat Feeding Chair for Kids

The TherAdapt 2-in-1 Booster Seat and Feeding Chair was conceived to accommodate postural positioning, successful feeding programs, and better socialization, all through improved comfort and support. This seats highlight feature is the addition of a rear support that can be folded up so the seat can attach to a chair and serve as a booster seat, or can be folded down so that the seat becomes a freestanding chair. Additionally, this seat is constructed with a slotted seat, a slotted back that is adjustable in both depth and angle, and a slotted footrest that is also adjustable in height. The slotted construction enables breathability for better comfort, easy cleaning for added convenience, and pre-made slots for attaching accessories and adjusting their positions. This chair also comes standard with a one inch wide pelvic positioning belt for better positioning and safety.

Appropriate bodily positioning and postural support is an integral part of enabling a successful feeding program as it assists in the ability to chew and swallow. The adjustability of the TherAdapt 2-in-1 Chair is designed in order to facilitate this proper positioning for feeding as well as for everyday life. This can be accomplished with the standard chair alone; however, for increased comfort and efficiency, optional accessories can be added to create the perfect chair to meet your childs unique needs. Brief descriptions of each accessory will follow, while labelled photos of each accessory can be found below the descriptions at the bottom of the page.

Accessories:
The Center Seat and Back Pad Set pads the center six inches of the seat for smaller children or more localized padding, while the Full Width Seat and Back Pad Set pads the full seat of the chair for larger children or more dispersed padding. Both of these pad sets are upholstered with washable vinyl and are attached to the chair on the seat with a Velcro-like hook and loop and on the back with two bolts through the chairs back. ***Please note that the Full Width Seat Pad prohibits the use of support blocks in the seat slots. The back slots are unaffected.

Two tray options are available depending on your chairs usage and your childs unique needs. The Wood Tray is designed for functional activities and provides additional support for the upper body extremities. The Clear Polycarbonate Tray allows the user to see their lower extremities for greater bodily awareness and permanence. The booster seat is equipped with spring-loaded quick-release hardware that allows for easy attachment of either of these trays to the armrests. ***Please note that both trays require the addition of the Adjustable Armrest Pair to be attached to the chair.

Abduction Block: This padded, adjustable depth block is upholstered with washable vinyl and provides medial thigh support for children who like to cross their legs.
Adjustable Armrest Pair: This pair of armrests provides upper extremity weight-bearing support. They are adjustable in both height and angle for added positional customization. These armrests are required if purchasing a tray.
Foot Sandal Pair: This set of sandals secures the feet in nearly any position on the footplate that you require. They are made of molded plastic and are equipped with two straps with curved release buckles for comfort, security, and ease of use.
Headrest: This headrest has 5 inches of possible vertical adjustment and is 6 inches tall. It provides additional head and neck support and is slotted to accept a set of Head Support Wedges if needed.
Butterfly Kit: The Butterfly Kit is a harness-like attachment that provides anterior chest support. It attaches with straps around the back pad and can be adjusted to any position along this pad. ***Please note that this kit requires the addition of at least one of the two Seat and Back Pad Sets in order to attach to the chair.
Head Support Wedge Pair: This pair of 45 degree wedges provides lateral head positioning control. They attach to the headrest to create a comfortable cradle for the childs head, which can be adjusted for a customized fit. This set comes with a pair of washable vinyl pads that attach to the wooden mounting brackets of the 2-in-1 seat. ***Please note that these support wedges require the purchase of the Headrest in order to attach to the chair.
Support Block Pair: These padded blocks are upholstered with washable vinyl and are multi-purpose to be attached with provided hardware to any position on the seat or back of the chair in order to provide additional support and/or customize the fit of the chair. Several of these block sets may be required to customize the fit for more involved users.
Support Kit Bundle: This is a convenient bundle that provides users who require multiple support attachments to purchase a set of several supports at a reduced price. This bundle includes: 1 Pair of Foot Sandals, 1 Center Seat and Back Pad Set, and 2 Pairs of Support Blocks.
