Dysphagia Treatment Device - VitalStim Plus Electrotherapy and sEMG Biofeedback System by DJO Global

The VitalStim Plus from DJO Global is designed to help retrain the body's muscles that are associated with swallowing. The device's NMES treatment can be customized with adjustable parameters such as phase duration, frequency, and work/rest time. (4) separate channels allow stimulation to be applied at different levels in different locations. Each channel features its own set of buttons to adjust settings, and an identifying color that corresponds to electrode color for easy identification.

In addition to NMES, the VitalStim Plus features sEMG Treatment designed to encourage patient participation in swallowing exercises by displaying live visual and audio feedback. As patients see their progress, they are more likely to continue and participate in exercises - leading to more efficacious treatment and improved results. Results can be displayed on the VitalStim Plus itself, or shared with a computer screen, television, tablet, or other device via Bluetooth screen mirroring capability. Please be advised that this device works with Android systems and is not compatible with IOS (Apple) systems.

The VitalStim Plus can store treatment data for later review, or export it to a PC where it can be stored for progress tracking and patient records. Also included with the VitalStim Plus are a series of educational videos and an image library that demonstrate multiple key therapeutic exercises like: the Masako Exercise, the Mendelsohn Maneuver, and the Supraglottic Maneuver.
