Is the cover allergy-proof?

Answer: The covers are not special allergy-proof covers, they are made of bamboo/rayon and microsuede/polyester.

What do you do when you want to sit up in bed and read for a while before reclining for sleep?

Answer: If you wish to sit up in bed and read, we suggest you flip the foam so that it runs lengthwise towards the ceiling, creating a comfortable steep incline with is great for sitting back and reading. Just switch the wedge around when you are ready to sleep.

Could I put this under the mattress, on top of the box spring, as I already use a wedge pillow on top? I want more elevation.

Answer: Yes, although the mattress would squeeze down on the pillow a bit, this will add more elevation.

A sleep wedge was recomended by the doctor after my husband spent a few days in the hospital. Most of the ones on the market are 18-24" wide. The one we purchased is queen size so we both use it and we don't roll off of it when we sleep like you would with a narrower one. It helps us both sleep better. Our only complaint is that the cover is difficult to put back on after washing and twists on the foam.
