Easy to assemble! We purchased the two side rail steps for my mother to assist in getting in/out of the bed. She has very thick mattresses which make the bed much taller. It was less expensive to purchase the steps than to purchase new a new bed set. The steps also help her with stability by having the rails to hold onto as set sets up, stands up and gets her self prepared to walk. Its been a life saver!
