Finger Separators for Comfy Splints Orthoses and Splint Models

The Comfy Finger Separator is an accessory attachment created for various Comfy Splints Orthosis devices and Splint models. This was created as an extra layer of protection to provide continuous extension and a soft cushion between fingers and prevent pressure from building between the PIP and DIP joints of adjoining fingers.

It seems these were designed like the Comfy hand finger Contracture cushion that promotes gentle finger extension, comfort, and support. These finger separators are made of padded terrycloth inserts and are held together on an elastic strap. This design makes it easy to slip onto any orthosis device without interfering and disrupting a device. It also helps prohibit ulnar and radial deviation. The soft terrycloth construction and amply padded separators help fingers extend freely without interfering with other fingers. Fingers are easily held in place while the terry cloth acts to provide additional cushioning and protection.

While this accessory helps maximize comfort for any Comfy Splints Orthosis device, it also promotes additional skin care measures for the fingers. By having this equipped onto any device, the anti-microbial Terrycloth material acts to protect and reduce the risk of contractures, skin breakdown, and palmar maceration. Like other Comfy Splints products using Terrycloth materials, the material has Freshguard and DriRelease fibers to absorb moisture promptly while providing extra protection.

These accessory attachments can be positioned on either hand as desired to maximize the comfort of fingers. It can also be placed downward to prevent hyperextension. Pediatric-sized separators are color-coded to indicate size while Adult sizes are only available in Navy Blue; Small is Lavender, Medium is Turquoise, and Large is Teal.
