The Grooved Pegboard Manipulation and Dexterity Test is designed to improve visual-motor skills by asking patients to manually rotate pegs so their “key” matches the randomly distributed “key-holes” in the pegboard. Unlike other similar pegboard tests, patients cannot simple ‘feel’ for the hole to get the peg to fit; they must observe their hand movements in relation to the peg hole, increasing visual-motor coordination with simple manipulation exercises.
Therapists and other medical practitioners will appreciate this test’s ability to divine a patient’s current dexterity and visual-motor coordination so they can best determine how to successfully proceed. Employers can use the simple manipulation exercise with potential employees to narrow down their hiring pool, or as a way to help a current employee improve their visual-motor coordination.
These replacement pegs come in a pack of 30 pegs and are designed specifically for the Grooved Pegboard Manipulation and Dexterity Test. Though the pegboard only has 25 holes, 30 peg replacements are provided in case one gets dropped or lost during use or transition in and out of storage.
