LIFE SoftPac Emergency Oxygen is low maintenance and less expensive to maintain since the unit itself does not expire, and it's also not temperature-sensitive. It is available in two models, one recommended for workplaces, homecare use, or public buildings, and one recommended for trained EMTs. The workplace model (LFC-LIFE-2-612) has two settings, the FDA minimum of 6 liters per minute for "general" emergencies and 12 liters per minute for "extreme" emergencies, delivering 100% inspired oxygen as recommended by the AHA. The EMT model has a variable flow rate, with 12 flow settings (0, .25, .5, 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, and 10 liters per minute). The 250 liter aluminum C cylinder is able to deliver a 40 minute supply.
It has a comfortable handle and shoulder strap, while the unit itself easily mounts on the wall. This unit does not need to be turned on in order to obtain a reading as the supply gauge reading can be seen through the window. The C-size cylinder is easy to refill, replace or dispose of at a local gas distributor. Replacement cylinders are available.
Simple external two step instructions are included. One for the inhalator, which is administered supplemental oxygen for a breathing victim, and one for the resuscitator, which is an oxygen enriched mouth-to-mouth CPR mask for non-breathing victims.
LIFE SoftPac Emergency Oxygen features 6 & 12 LPM - "Norm and High" (2 settings) provides to recommended 100% inspired O2.
LIFE SoftPac Emergency Oxygen is covered by a five-year warranty from the manufacturer.
FDA Regulations
Minimum capability is 6 LPM flow rate. Life 612 models deliver both the minimum of 6 LPM and the AHA recommends 100% inspired oxygen at 12 LPM, in just two simple settings which read "Norm" and "High." Only Life Corporation offers the simple 6 and 12 LPM flow rates.
American Heart Association Guidelines for CPR Oxygen
Give 100% inspired oxygen during Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support as soon as it becomes available.
Use supplemental oxygen ata flow rate of 10 - 12 LPM to enable deliver of 100% inspired oxygen, initially.
