This absorbent, multi-layer vest dressing covers the trunk to treat chest/back wounds from 'road-rash' abrasions, burns, and wound injuries. Use either dry or soaked with saline solution.

Designed for patients with chest-trunk wounds, the Sofsorb Specialty Absorptive Chest and Vest Dressings by DeRoyal are highly-absorbent, non-adherent, multi-layered one-piece dressings worn like a vest to protect and heal wounds on the chest and trunk of the patient.

Worn over the body like a vest where the shoulders are not covered, it protects chest and back wounds from future truma and promotes healing for injuries such as 'road rash' from motorcycle accidents, burn areas, heavily draining skin ulcers and pressure sores, and post-op incision sites.

The vest dressing can be used either dry or soaked with saline solution or other antibacterial topical agents, if needed. It's five-layer construction assists healing by protecting the fragile tissue and skin while allowing wound fluid to seep into absorbent layers. A cellulose layer then wicks away the drainage along the vest dressing to increase the full absorption capacity of the dressing. This results in quicker healing and the prevention of maceration and recontamination.

Additional coverage can be provided with the selection of a chest-vest with flaps for buttock wound coverage.
