StrongBack Excursion 8 and Excursion 12 are two unique models of transport chairs that have been designed for comfort and support while in use indoors or outdoors. The larger 12-inch back wheels of the Excursion 12 are ideal for outdoor terrains such as sand, mud, grass, mulch, snow, or gravel. The Excursion 8 has smaller rear wheels that are recommended for indoor conditions. There are three sizes available for the width of the seat and a 300-pound weight limit on all transport chairs.
The ergonomic shape of this transport wheelchair provides full body support from the spine to the thighs and feet. The backrest is curved for the natural lumbar curvature of the human spine. The seat is angled so that the pelvis is properly aligned. The 1.2 seat cushion relieves pressure points on the buttock, discs in the spine, and the coccyx. The seat angle prevents slipping and poor posture.
Adjustable lumbar support can be changed around for your desired comfort level. By unlatching the Velcro flaps on the backside, the lumbar cushion may be changed in height and firmness. The Excursion 12 transport chair is available with all of the previously mentioned features and an additional set of handbrakes for the rear wheels. The handbrakes are accessible by the person sitting in the chair and the person pushing from behind. They are built-in on the left and right sides.
The small seat size is 16-inches wide. The medium is 18-inches wide while the large seat is 20-inches wide. The entire height is 36-inches and the seat is 20-inches above the ground. All of the seats feature an 18.5-inch tall backrest.
