The Velpeau Shoulder Immobilizer helps to keep an injured shoulder or arm more stable and safe while keeping it securely and comfortably against the user's body.

The immobilizer is constructed with soft and breathable cotton material with a sling pouch design and has soft, laminated foam shoulder and waist straps. A neck pad is also included to help disperse pressure, and the waist strap helps to keep the slinged arm close and safe to the body for extra protection. A thumb loop is located within the pouch to help keep the hand in an anatomically neutral position while reducing pouch migration of the arm.

The swathe strap can be removed and is easy to adjust to a customized fit with the convenient slide buckle, and the hook and loop closure allows an easy and quick application and removal of the sling. The sling will fit right and left arms equally well and comes in sizes x-small, small, medium, and large.

I was happier with this sling than the one I was using. The strap across the back helped restrict the movement of the arm but did not totally immobilize the arm even when the strap around the waste was pull tight. It does make you more aware of your movement, therefore prompting you to move less. The only thing negative I would say is that the picture shows the sling going higher up on her arm when in fact it does not go that high. I would have given it a 5 if that had been higher up the arm because I feel that would have helped immobilize the arm better. Unless I find another product that better COMPLETELY immobilizes the arm, I would buy this one again for that use. Better than what the orthopedic surgeon gave me.

Very comfortable
I have used many slings. This is the most comfortable I have had. I have opted to decline surgery and use the sling when I need it for comfort.
