I purchased this for my aunt, who is fairly deaf and uses a hearing aid but sometimes still has trouble hearing with that. She uses it with the caregivers at her assisting living facility, who are really happy with it and to not having to keep repeating what they say. She also uses it next to the telephone and by the television. It seems to be working perfectly and I would absolutely recommend it.
