The AIROS 8 Sequential Compression Device features many of the same basic functions as the previous model with a few more modern advancements added to it. By using compression therapy and circulating air, the medical device can be used in hospitals and private homes to treat a lymphatic fluid blockage in the arms or legs. Each compression garment feels comfortable against the skin as its pressure is lowered or raised to circulate internal fluid. Having one of these compression devices in your medical arsenal will allow you to safely alleviate pressure in order to stimulate internal fluid movement. This may be reimbursed by private insurances and Medicare with codes: E0651, E0667, E0668, and E0669.

The AIROS 8 Sequential Compression Device has been used by vascular surgeons, lymphedema therapists, physical therapists, geriatric specialists, and bariatric specialists to treat the swelling of the arms and legs. Each main air pump unit has a simple control panel with a wide variety of settings that let you adjust cycle times, modes, treatment times, and pressure ranges. This specific device has a built-in timer that records total usage time. Four chambers can be activated at once compared to the three chambers in the AIROS 6.

A unique feature about the AIROS 8 is that the compression garments have the ability to block air from filling a specific chamber if the patient has an uncomfortable ulcer or region that does not need air compression. There is an additional mode that breaks up and moves lymphatic fluid using well-controlled airflow and revolutionary tube engineering. By altering the amount of air pressure in cyclical patterns, this device benefits blood flow and encourages healthy fluid drainage. 8-Chamber Arm PLUS Compression Garments are also available.

The medical treatment machine receives power from a standard electrical outlet and turns on/off via a switch located on the backside. When the unit is fully turned on, the large LCD screen lights up and from there you can start selecting your settings. By using the up and down arrows, you can choose between lymphedema preparation therapy (LPT) mode, manual lymphatic drainage (MLD), intermittent pneumatic compression (IPC) therapy, fibrotic tissue tenderizing prior to main therapy, and more. The engineers behind this compression therapy have been receiving input from clinicians over the years and have made this gadget to fully meet the needs of the modern world.

There are numerous garments to choose from for any body type, shape, or weight. They are all made of a durable material designed to withstand a lifetime of repeated inflation and deflation. The comfortable shape and material are properly fitted for the human body. Each therapeutic appliance has ergonomic handles, O-ring zippers, and vacuum technology to make it easier for patient placement and removal.
