The lightweight Sara Flex is an intuitive patient transfer aid designed to allow a single caregiver to facilitate sit-to-stand transfers for patients with limited mobility. The simple remote allows caregivers to raise and lower the patient with the push of a button and without any manual lifting; the remote control also operates the width-adjustable chassis to accommodate furniture like wheelchairs. A wide, curved crossbar serves as the handle for caregivers, providing superior control and a comfortable grip.
Designed with patient comfort in mind, the Sara Flex's foot platform is textured to provide optimal traction and reduce the risk of accidental slipping. A flexible, silicone panel acts as a resistor for the shins and knees to help in the raising and lowering process feel more natural, as the panel adjusts with the patient's movement. The lower legs are strapped in with similarly flexible silicone straps that stretch behind the patient's shins and conform for enhanced comfort. The lifting mast has a U-shaped crossbar at the top with an ergonomically shaped and angled handle on either end for patients to hold on to; this both reassures and steadies patients during the sit-to-stand motion.
Two batteries are included with the Sara Flex, along with a wall charger, allowing caregivers to have one battery in use and the other charging to ensure there is always a charged battery at the ready for transfers. An optional integrated scale weighs patients while they are on the lift and displays the measurement on the remote control for quick, easy readings that don't require a separate transfer to and from a stationary scale.
