Why are Laundry Carts Used?
Laundry carts, hamper trucks and bushel trucks are most often needed in large institutions to keep up with the constant demand for clean linens, clothing and other material handling. Available in a multitude of designs, these rolling laundry carts are perfect for transporting not only laundry, but can also be used for carrying various parts and supplies, bagged waste and trash, equipment and many other kinds of materials.
Even though laundry carts are extremely tough and durable, they are generally very lightweight and offer easy maneuverability. They make transporting laundry and other materials a breeze, especially in big and busy industries like healthcare and hospitality. These carts are an absolute necessity in industrial laundries and help to keep clean laundry separated from soiled laundry.
How do I Choose the Right Laundry Cart?
Laundry Carts are available in a wide selection of styles and offer varying capacities to match the individual and unique needs of the user, institution or facility. Here are some features to consider when making your choice:
All of our bushel trucks, laundry carts and hamper trucks include standard 3 inch polyurethane caster wheels that either come in a diamond caster pattern (two 3 inch rigid and two 3 inch swivel), or a corner caster pattern (four 3 inch swivel).
Hinged poly lids, nylon liners, sewn-on vinyl, anti-bacterial and flame-retardant liners and covers can be chosen for additional safety, security and sanitation.
Spring platforms can be added to many of our laundry carts to help prevent back injuries, minimizing bending and reaching, and help make rolling and dumping/emptying the cart even easier.
Many of our laundry hamper carts highlight an extremely tough single- or double-walled structural poly base, with heavy-duty zinc-plated steel frames to stand up to the rigors of a busy facility.
Several laundry carts include the capability to be converted from a soiled linen cart back to a clean linen cart by repositioning shelves from a vertical to horizontal position. Many of our carts include a choice of plastic or chrome-plated wire shelves to fulfill various industrial needs.
Sizes and capacity amounts of our bushel trucks and laundry carts range from 7.5 cubic feet up to 48 cubic feet, with working weight capacities that go up to 1,000 pounds. Some of the laundry carts are also offered in 'bushel sizes' which range from 6 to 20, depending on the dimensions. The larger the dimensions, the higher the bushel size.
Built to hold up to heavy commercial use, these durable laundry carts are manufactured by the R & B Wire Company, an innovative, industry leader setting the standard in laundry cart design since 1946.
