Have you ever had a leg bag that was difficult to secure? Have you had to wear shorts during warm weather because you didn’t want to be embarrassed with having the leg bag exposed? I decided to do something about the complaints and improve each patient’s quality of life who needed to wear a leg bag. I'm Brian Mohika, the CEO of CathWear LLC. CathWear Underwear are medical underwear designed for patients wearing leg bags post-procedure. CathWear has a pouch on each thigh that holds (1) 600ml leg bag, in each pouch. Patients will no longer need the elastic or Velcro straps attached to the leg bag, making the leg bag stationary in the pouch. Each pouch has an opening at the bottom to make an exit point for the drainage valve. The patients have the option to not remove the leg bag to drain the urine when wearing shorts, a skirt, or a dress. The leg bag no longer slides up and down the leg, the plastic to the skin creates sweat points which CathWear now creates a barrier, over tightening of the straps so the leg bag won’t move is no longer necessary, and the rashes and skin irritation risks are reduced. The more common complication is the reduction of embarrassing moments and a significant decrease in the patient’s quality of life. Patients can now wear weather-appropriate clothing while utilizing a leg bag and have the trust and confidence in our innovative design to keep the leg bags discreet.
CathWear is not only discreet yet it has extremely innovative features which improve the patient’s quality of life. There is a section called the “Catheter Channel Track” which houses the tubing and keeps it concealed and close to the body so there isn’t any inadvertent pulling of the tubing, reducing the risk of the tubes getting dislodged. CathWear has a Velcro opening to assist with the threading of the tubing so there are less applications for patients with osteo or rheumatoid arthritis. The unique valve access with the external pouch on the thigh makes the leg bag easily accessible for drainage with ease. Urology patients leaving the hospital with a leg bag will not have to fear the embarrassing moments and can focus on the treatment and recovery process.

CathWear is covered by Medicare Code A5105. The number of units varies from state to state and patients should check with their doctor to understand how many units are allowed and to obtain a script to get them covered by Medicare, and private insurance(s). Here is the Medicare Approval Letter. Please note that Rehabmart does not accept insurance at this time.
