The values of Sweden’s social system include the belief that security and safety should be available to every person, and that each life must be equally valued by all.
Bjorn Ross saw a way in which these values were not being carried out, and decided to do something about it.
In 1984, Ross founded Ross Medical Equipment and developed the Easy Slide Mat. Not unlike in the United States, more and more caregivers in hospitals, nursing homes and other facilities were straining and injuring themselves while trying to move patients.
