Beyond The Pressure: What Sets Newtowne Hyperbarics Apart

In an unassuming building nestled within the small coastal town of Pokomoke, Maryland, a quiet revolution is taking place.

Newtowne Hyperbarics began creating hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) chambers in 2001. Their parent company, Typhoon Water Wares Ltd, had been designing and manufacturing medical devices and pressure equipment since 1984.

In the year 2001, when Marie Foster and her team were first asked to design custom mild hyperbaric oxygen chambers suitable for home use, they knew they couldn’t simply replicate what was already being done - so they pioneered a new approach to chamber creation.

By developing innovative technologies which would eventually give way to the next generation of hyperbaric chambers, after ten years, Marie and her team debuted Newtowne Hyperbarics as a way to market their products and make them available nation-wide.

Since Newtowne’s unveiling, the company has steadily built a solid reputation of producing the highest-quality mild hyperbaric chambers available on the market today -  all at a fraction of the cost of most major competitors!

What is HBOT (hyperbaric oxygen therapy)?

Believe it or not, hyperbaric oxygen therapy has been around for nearly 350 years!

However, like most groundbreaking medical advances, this new therapy wasn’t immediately available to the masses. In fact, it wasn’t until the mid-1800s that hyperbaric therapy was used clinically.

Hyperbaric chambers were first tested and implemented to help deep-sea divers recover from painful decompression sickness

Today, the FDA approves hyperbaric oxygen therapy for numerous medical conditions, including:

  • Carbon monoxide poisoning
  • Gas embolism
  • Hypoxia
  • Brain injuries
  • Crush injuries
  • Skin grafts
  • Slow-healing wounds
  • Anemia
  • Radiation damage

The air you and I normally breathe at sea level contains only 21% oxygen. During hyperbaric oxygen therapy, two things happen: patients receive a steady supply of 100% pure, breathable oxygen, and the increased air pressure administered inside the hyperbaric chamber enables the body to absorb more oxygen per volume of compressed air.

This inner-chamber air compression shrinks the breathable oxygen molecules, allowing the body to absorb more oxygen and deliver healing to hard-to-reach places.

As a result, oxygen is pushed beyond the red blood cells directly into all the damaged tissues, which jump-starts the healing process.

Can hyperbaric therapy be used at home?

Mild hyperbaric oxygen therapy (M-HBOT) is a form of HBOT that is being implemented more and more in non-clinical settings!

M-HBOT chambers, like those manufactured by Newtowne Hyperbarics, administer air pressure at lower levels than those used in a clinical setting. The principle, however, is exactly the same!

While not yet approved by the FDA, there is mounting evidence that M-HBOT can produce significant and lasting health changes for people living with asthma, autism, brain injury, cerebral palsy, Parkinson’s disease, sports injury, stroke, and dozens of other conditions.

What makes Newtowne Hyperbarics different?

Today, Newtowne Hyperbarics is the only mild hyperbaric chamber manufacturer who manufactures their entire product line in-house. By completing all stages of chamber construction on-site in Pokomoke, the Newtowne team has the unique ability to oversee all aspects of chamber construction from beginning to end.

The company prides itself on the quality of its chamber construction, including its use of steel frames (sturdier than widely-used PVC) and thick, comfortable inner-chamber mattresses.

Newtowne’s hyperbaric chambers also feature a custom air-tight zipper system which make entering and exiting their chambers incredibly simple: even a person living alone or without assistance can get in and out with ease!

Lastly (and most wonderfully), Newtowne Hyperbarics prices their chambers to be exceptionally affordable. They offer highly competitive pricing, as well as several different financing options for renting or purchasing their units.

As if all this wasn’t enough, Newtowne Hyperbaric Chambers have even been used and trusted in veterinary settings and by pet owners!

What Newtowne customers are saying

Newtowne Hyperbarics is rapidly developing a devoted following, thanks in large part to its superior product line and the care and attention they show their customers.

Here are some comments from customers who took time out to post them on Facebook:

"The best and most gracious company to work with. Their customer service is unequaled by any rival company, and they produce a true and quality product. Thank you!"

"Marie is a great person. Great service, great company. I have the C4-31 for 2 years and still working like new. Thanks, Marie."

"This is a great product! Easy to setup, easy to use and very effective!!"

Newtowne's attention to detail is well summed up by one Facebook follower:

“I got to visit the Newtowne Hyperbarics manufacturing facility in Pokomoke, MD where Marie gave me a tour of the plant. This all-female employee firm was clean, efficient, and incredible equipped ... the attention to upgrading important medical details, the quality of the materials and the knowledge base of the company produce a very safe mild hyperbaric chamber at a competitive price.

"I went to visit Marie seeking advice on how to repair the chamber windows of a name brand competitor that are known to blow out after a few years. Here again, Newtowne Hyperbarics addresses this safety issue with a design upgrade by using a hard translucent polymer plastic sandwiched between the folds of the bladder that is also sealed with a high frequency welder.

"It's details like this that make Newtowne Hyperbarics a superior product and a great value for the first-time buyer.”
