The silky, porous material is comfortable against the skin and won't trap soap, water, or grime; it stays lightweight throughout bathing as the material won't absorb water that could weigh it down. A variety of belt styles are available, all of which are versatile and can be used in a variety of ways to provide targeted support for the patient. One-piece belts feature central padding with oversized D rings and side-release buckles on both sides for more precise adjustments and easy application and removal. There are two mounting options for connecting one-piece belts to a shower chair; the first is a simple plastic slider that allows the user to wrap each end around part of the chair's frame and secure it to itself, meaning no drilling or permanent mounting is required. The second option comes in the form of built-in grommets that can be used in conjunction with band clamps or other mounting hardware (sold separately) to mount directly onto the chair's frame.
