Bodypoint, with headquarters located in Seattle, Washington, designs and manufactures postural supports which improve the comfort, safety, function, and independence for wheelchair users.

Being certified compliant with ISO 9001-2015, the Bodypoint Quality Management System goes above and beyond by additionally testing all of their products to applicable ISO and ANSI/RESNA standards. This leads to having every device made, from footplates to shoulder support, delivering a standards-tested balance of safety, comfort, durability, fit, and aesthetics.

Founded in 1991, Bodypoint specializes in manufacturing medical, ophthalmic, surgical, and veterinary equipment and apparatus which includes products or solutions for wheelchair user upper body support, seating and mobility, wheelchair user pelvis support, wheelchair user lower body support, and wheelchair hardware and accessories.

Bodypoint’s co-founder, David Hintzman, stated “At Bodypoint, we work every day to better understand the capabilities and aspirations of people who use wheelchairs. As we imagine, design and manufacture our products, we strive to bridge the gap between the hard and the soft, the inanimate and the living, to create a better connection between wheelchairs and people.”

With this ideology as a founding principle for the company, Bodypoint expands their idea of helping and commitment to excellence by being:

- Committed to designing and manufacturing the best postural support devices and wheelchair accessories for wheelchair users, as well as assisting with the specialized and individual needs within the complex field of rehabilitation.

- Devoted to using the highest quality materials combined with conducting rigorous testing to ensure product safety, durability, performance and appearance.

- Innovative, and designing new or improved positioning accessories such as:

Hip belts which stop the user from sliding down the chair while helping maintain a correct posture, aiding in respiration, eating and drinking.

Upper body positioning provides good head positioning as well as stability and function, respiration, and a balance between control and liberty of body movement.

Calf straps and ankle huggers assist with balancing the lower body response to the upper body movements, providing a more comfortable, stable, and dynamic alternative to rigid shoe holders or foot straps.

Padded leg harnesses help to hold each leg at the inside of the thigh while providing unique resistance to pelvic rotation and obliquity during wheelchair positioning, without limiting any anterior movement or a binding force of pressing on the bladder.

Angle-adjustable footplate kits help with correct and comfortable hip, leg, and foot positioning.
