Broda Encore Rehab Wheelchair (500RW)

The Encore Rehab Wheelchair by Broda features a collaboration between Broda and Motion Concepts to combine the best of Broda wheelchairs and Motion Concepts cushioning/padding to create one of the most comfortably customizable wheelchairs on the market. Built on a frame made of 16 Guage Tubular Steel and padded with a customizable variety of some of the highest functioning cushions around, the Encore Rehab is the epitome of what all wheelchairs should be. This chair allows individuals to autonomously get around with a self-propelling foot pedal feature that helps individuals regain their independence and mobility. It comes with an energetic rocking feature that helps relieve stress, depression, anxiety, and reduce pain.

The Encore features an infinitely adjustable tilt-in-space function that further improves pain management through therapeutic pressure redistribution. Proper pressure redistribution helps prevent and treat pressure wounds and ulcers; it also improves the overall quality of life. The backrest angle of the chair can be adjusted to either 5, 10, 15, or 20 degrees to fit each user's individual needs and preferences. The seat and armrest height on the Encore Rehab is easy to adjust and may be quickly changed when needed. The rear casters feature a locking mechanism that prevents accidents that could occur from the chair uncontrollably rolling away. Footrests and footrest hangers promote proper seating position and posture while reducing the pressure on the knees and pelvis.

A wide range of accessories is available for purchase and is recommended to be installed in the factory since the chairs ship completely built and improper installation of accessories could void the warranty or lead to injury.

The Encore Rehab Wheelchair offers an unmatched level of seating customization by utilizing the Matrx® Seating Series which includes the:

Libra Cushion:
The Matrx Libra cushion was developed with user adjustability, ease of positioning, and skin protection in mind. It was specifically molded to ensure that the user gains stability, balance, and comfort when using this cushion. Built on a foam base of high resilience foam, the cushion base anatomically contours to the pelvis to promote proper leg positioning, reduce sliding, and prevent posterior pelvic tilt. The base is made with Ultra-Fresh anti-microbial odor protection that keeps the cushion clean and fresh throughout use. An additional dual-compartment fluid sac that alleviates pressure on bony protrusions seamlessly fits on top of the foam. The fluid sac is not temperature sensitive and does not require maintenance. The whole package is wrapped in an inner liner that serves as a moisture barrier which is then covered by a moisture-resistant, high-stretch, breathable Startex outer cover.
Vi Cushion:
The Matrx Vi cushion provides support for people with a medium to high risk of skin breakdown. This free part foam cushion provides proper support, stability, and comfort while maintaining proper skin protection. The lowest layer of the cushion is made from a firm HR foam base that acts as a stable yet comfortable base that does not bottom out. The top layer is made from molded high resilient foam formed with UltraFresh antimicrobial with midline leg positioners. It also features an overlapping edge that promotes safe transfers. Between these two halves is a small supersoft viscoelastic foam insert which helps provide additional cushioning to the bony prominences. The cushion is enveloped in a moisture-resistant liner and moisture-resistant Meshtex cover. This cover has hook-and-loop fasteners that keep the cushion attached to the chair.
PSP Cushion:
The Matrx PSP (Posture Seat Polymer) cushion merges the support of the PS foam with a polymer overlay that creates an ultra-lightweight cushion that provides all day support and skin protection. The cushion is crafted from High Resilient molded foam with an ischial relief area that is waffled to submerge the pelvis and keep it from moving around. In addition, a polymer insert is inserted for extra skin and shear protection. These cushions are wrapped in a moisture resistant Startex barrier and are covered by a moisture resistant Startex cover with hook-and-loop fasteners for chair attachment.
PS Cushion:
The Matrx PS cushion provides superior support, position alignment, and comfort in a lightweight package that is great for a wide range of individuals. It's made from a high resilient molded foam that features Ultrafresh antimicrobial which prevents odor. A waffled ischial relief area on the cushion helps cushion the pelvis and also helps greatly reduce sliding. The cushion is covered in a moisture proof urethane slipcover which is then enveloped in a moisture resistant Startex cover. It, too, features hook-and-loop fasteners that keep the cushion in place on the chair's seat.

Elite TR Back:
The Matrx Elite TR (Tilt & Recline) back is a highly adjustable back support built on a two-layer high resilient foam cushion that provides additional solace and better positioning. The cushion is embedded in an aluminum shell that provides additional shoulder support and allows for great breathability via cutouts. The back is covered in a moisture-resistant Meshtex cover that lies over the shell to ensure proper coverage.
Elite Back/ Elite Deep Back:
The Matrx Elite Back and Deep Back offer ample support through a variety of sizes and shapes that provide support for a range of back support needs. This back is highly recommended for active individuals who require shoulder or hip clearance or need to add additional lateral supports. The back is made of an aluminum shell. Housed within the aluminum shell is a highly resilient foam that is covered with a Meshtex moisture-resistant cover.
PB Back/ PB Deep Back:
The Matrx PB Back is designed to provide superior midline positioning and support through a well-contoured, highly resilient foam cushion made with Ultrafresh microbial, which keeps odors away. This back is recommended for less active individuals who seek exceptional comfort. Housed in a lightweight ABS shell available in standard or deep contour depths, the cushion is covered by a moisture-resistant Meshtex cover.

Elan Headrest:
The Matrx Elan headrest is available in a plethora of various supports to perfectly suit your needs. The headrest features six points of adjustments that allow for an infinite assortment of positioning seat-ups. The headrest can be repositioned with a single tool.
