GelTex Plus IodoFoam NPWT Kits are intended to be used in conjunction with Negative Pressure Wound Therapy [NPWT) pump systems to deliver negative pressure to wounds. NPWT systems are indicated to promote wound healing, through means including drainage and removal of infectious material or other wound fluids.
GelTex Plus IodoFoam NPWT Kits, when used in combination with LipoGel, produce less tissue ingrowth into foam dressing, less tissue loss upon removal of foam, and less pain for patients during therapy. The included IodoFoam treats sensitive tissues like bone and tendon, greatly reducing microbes and exudate. The foam dressing kits are provided in sizes identical to institutional standards. It is a large quantity of high quality transparent film. The quality and elegant design features a proprietary suction head and is considered best in class for ease of use.
When cut, the high quality black foam will not leave fibers in the wound. The GelTex Plus IodoFoam NPWT Kit's transparent film comes in a simple to use 4 step application process that is easy to follow, so you provide the right wound coverage for negative pressure wound therapy. The ComforCap is unique because it is smaller, softer, and has a lower profile than other brands. The smaller cap size allows more flexibility in treating smaller chronic wounds, and its softness and low profile allow for patient comfort and less chance of hitting the cap and causing further harm to the wound. The ComforCap is secured to the transparent film by a 3m adhesive disk that holds strong the moment is applied and gets stronger during the negative pressure wound therapy application.
Each kit includes black foam, transparent dressing, tubing with suction head, a disk, IodoFoam, and instructions.
IodoFoam
IodoFoam is the only controlled release iodine foam dressing in the world. The advanced wound care foam is superior to silver for sustained microbial biofilm control, resulting in less dressing changes. When the dressing changes color from black to white, it's time to change. IodoFoam offers superior exudate control compared to non-foam antimicrobials. The foam can be used in combination with LipoGel and GelTex, and it's cost effective and Medicare reimbursable.
IodomFoam Iodophor Foam Dressing is a sterile, single use absorptive foam dressing consisting of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) foam complexed with iodine to create a controlled release iodophor comprising 8% iodine (w/w). When applied to the wound, IodoFoam absorbs fluids, removing exudate, debris and loose slough while providing a protective, soft covering over the wound surface. IodoFoam releases iodine to kill bacteria upon absorbing wound fluid and changes color to indicate when the iodine is depleted.
Biofilm Performance
In direct comparison to silver, iodine has demonstrated superior antimicrobial efficacy for the phenotypes found in wound biofilms. These findings have been replicated in multiple independent laboratories, utilizing a variety of biofilm models. In contrast, silver has shown to be a relatively poor performer, particularly in mature biofilms.
Convenient and Stain Free
IodoFoam provides a stain-free advanced healing that is compatible with many secondary dressings. Traditional iodophor dressings have been supplied as inconvenient and messy ointments, paste, or liquids that stain skin, bedding materials, and/or clothing. Further, the reliance of these traditional formulations on basic secondary dressings (gauze) is inconsistent with advanced healing protocols.
The Power of Controlled Release Iodine
After years of wound biofilm research, IodoFoam leverages a proprietary controlled release iodine technology trade named Ioplex. More than a name, controlled release iodine achieves three key goals of therapy (a) less frequent dressing changes, (b) reduced host cell exposure to elemental iodine, and (c) sustained biofilm control.
You Can See it Working
Iodofoam is packed damp, providing a cool and extremely soft flexible dressing with a striking black appearance. Easily cut to wound shapes, Iodofoam will gradually turn white as the iodine is released into the wound bed, indicating the time for dressing change.

Iodofoam + LipoGel Used in Combination
Iodofoam and LipoGel used together combines a great offense and defense for non-adherent, pain free dressing changes. Used together, the foam and gel prevents drying of the wound bed.
Indications: IodoFoam is indicated for use in cleaning wet ulcers and wounds, including diabetic ulcers, pressure ulcers, arterial ulcers, venous stasis ulcers, and infected traumatic or surgical wounds and burns.
