    More Information

Specially designed for people living with neuromuscular conditions, the JAECO WREX Exoskeleton Support helps its users optimize their upper-extremity range of motion. This Wilmington Robotic Exoskeleton (WREX) functions as an advanced dynamic orthosis system for the upper limbs and is similar in construction to typical human anatomy. Often utilized for conditions like cerebral palsy (CP), multiple sclerosis (MS), and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), this unique assistive device is indicated for a variety of upper limb pathologies and muscle diseases.

The exoskeleton support employs links and linear elastic bands to assist the patient with movement while helping with their arm balance. The elevation of the shoulder and elbow provides a full range of motion to aid in both physical therapy and daily living activities. Ideal for people exhibiting weak shoulder and elbow musculature, the JAECO WREX promotes access to the user's environment. It also provides users with the ability to access their face for oral hygiene, nose-wiping, adjusting eyeglasses, washing, and eating.

The exoskeleton support highlights three mount bases making it easily accessible to most manual and mobility wheelchairs. The mount link for the WREX is designed for each of the three articulation systems; the mount base, the link joint, and the pitch mount shaft can quickly pivot 360 degrees. This type of construction allows the user to locate the pitch mount shaft in a wide range of locations to best optimize its position and avoid other devices attached to the wheelchair.
