Cryotherapy (also known as cold therapy) has long been used as a way to increase circulation, encourage immune system activity, and soothe aches and pains associated with tense muscles and sore joints. Fully-immersive cryotherapy can, unfortunately, be expensive and inaccessible to some individuals, which is where the Squid Cold Compression for Shoulders comes in. In addition to the pain-relieving and immune system-boosting benefits of cold therapy, the Squid system also provides intermittent bouts of compression. Compression helps oxygenate tissue and direct swelling/edema away from the afflicted area and back towards the heart, both of which speed the healing process and ease aches and pains.

The Squid System is made up of the wrap that secures around the afflicted area, a gel pack, and the Squid Pump. All gel packs are made of a proprietary gel formula that has a lower freezing temperature than water and ensures mess- and melt-free cold therapy. The shoulder wrap is ergonomically designed to fit securely and comfortably, with a wide band that wraps around the chest for stability. The anti-bacterial wraps and gel packs are designed to wipe down easily between uses and are durable enough to last for years to come.

The Squid Pump is a small, rechargeable device that periodically inflates air bladders within the wrap, providing rejuvenating compression. Four different compression settings have their own unique sequence of peak pressure and inflation/deflation cycles, and are easily navigated with a simple mode button. The pump recharges quickly to ensure it is always ready for use.

The Squid System for the Shoulder can be purchased as a full unit of the regular Squid system (includes Squid Pump, gel pack, and shoulder wrap), and as a full unit of the SquidGo System (includes SquidGo Pump, SquidGo gel pack, and SquidGo shoulder wrap). SquidGo is a smaller device that supports only 15 uses per charge but still offers all 4 compression levels; this secondary model is designed for in-home use only.

Users can also choose to purchase wraps and gel packs individually or as a bundle of a wrap and gel pack, all separately from the Squid Pump.
