The Carrot 3 Special Needs Car Seat is unique in its ability to conform to the needs of each user. The innovative design easily contracts to accommodate smaller children and expands to better support older teens or even small adults. Rodded extensions allow modification in a building-block style that completely transforms this seat, allowing it to accommodate a wide range of users across all ages and sizes. Positioning support pads simply Velcro onto the car seat, allowing for customization in both support and comfort. A moldable headrest can be fitted to the child's head, offering stability for the head and neck while in motion.
The Carrot 3 Special Needs Car Seat is designed to grow to accommodate children, teens, and small adults from 30 to 108 lbs and from 37 to 60 inches in height by adding length to the seat or back as you choose. These unique modular extensions allow the user to achieve up to 4" of growth in the seat and 11" of growth in the back. Back height, seat length, and seat depth can each be adjusted to ensure an optimal fit for each user's needs. For maximum positional versatility, this seat can easily recline from 90 to 180 degrees with a free-angle recline feature that allows the seat to more readily conform to the vehicle seat as well as enabling easy access for on-the-go diaper changes.
Each Carrot 3 includes a set of high-density foam trunk positioning inserts, seat positioning inserts, and hip positioning inserts that help stabilize the sitting posture. These pads help achieve proper positioning for balance and comfort, attaching and adjusting easily with Velcro backing. A comfortably padded harness provides extra restraint for those required added chest stability. It comfortably positions the child and can be tightened by simply pulling on the included adjustable strap. Red harness release lever can be pressed to quickly and easily loosen the strap while pulling the shoulder harness.
This car seat features a flame-retardant and environmentally-friendly seat cover that protects the cushions and keeps the child safe and comfortable during the ride. Absorbent knit material with polymer coating is comfortable and soft against the skin while wicking moisture away to keep the user cool and dry during the ride. Each cover is removable and machine washable for easy maintenance and hygiene control.
The Carrot 3 exceeds U.S. Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 213 (FMVSS 213) and meets all flammability code FMVSS 302 for automotive upholstery. The Carrot 3 was designed on IndyCar principles, therefore it protects more securely against side impacts. It integrates LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children) anchors to ensure a safe and reliable securement in vehicles with LATCH anchors and is certified for air travel.
Defective materials and workmanship are covered under the 5-year warranty through the manufacturer for 5 years from the date of original purchase.
