The Rolyan Thumb Loop for Improved Hand Function is a hand orthopedic device designed to help enhance the functional use of the injured hand with adjustable tension on the thumb. The thumb loop wraps around the thumb to provide a more natural radial or palmar abduction while at the same time pulling the wrist into extension and radial deviation.
The adjustable hook-and-loop Velcro closure allows an easy one-handed fitting adjustment to comfortably pull the wrist into extension and radial deviation to help decrease the pull on the thumb. This helps to position the hand for improved grasping, releasing, and the manipulation of objects with the hand and fingers. The thumb loop is an ideal orthopedic device for the treatment for mild to moderate flexor spasticity.
The latex-free thumb loop comes in a choice of five sizes which includes premature infant, infant, child, adolescent, and adult size. To find the best fit, measure the wrist circumference at the CMC joint distal to the ulnar styloid.
