What is a Blood Drawing Station?

A blood drawing station is a self-standing table where an infant or child can be placed so blood can be drawn. Most of them are configured so the child or infant can be laid down during the procedure, while others may include a sitting area. The drawing station with available seating has padded armrests, flip arms, a seat, and a backrest for comfort. They are built with safety in mind, with most designs offering a rim on three sides, rounded corners, and shelves and drawers to keep supplies out of reach of the patients.

The center pad is covered in vinyl to be easy to clean and can be available in different upholstery colors to match existing décor. The drawing station is also available in a variety of colors and laminates. The laminates for the base frame, sides, and front panel can come in wood tone, solid colors, or pediatric themes. Some available pediatric themes are an engine, a zoo bus, and an imagination series. This can help amuse and distract little ones when entering the room. Under normal use, each station has a 200 pound weight capacity.

Some blood drawing stations have an all-welded stainless steel frame, and a top with a rim on two sides for safety. The center pad is removable for easy cleaning, with a plastic work tray at one end for work items. It has safety straps to ensure an infant stays safe while on the table.

What is a Phlebotomy Cart?

A phlebotomy cart is on wheels so it can be moved to the area needed for a blood draw. It is made to hold all the necessary supplies that may be required while blood is being drawn. Pediatric carts feature graphics in tear and peel resistant laminate so it will last a long time. To reduce the risk of the absorption of pathogens, the easy to grip handle is built into the top with a solid plastic top surface. The five leg aluminum base is stable and powder-coated blue with matching graphics. The graphics are available in ocean commotion, cool pals, space place, and alley cats and dogs themes. The carts are made with seamless edges, a solid one-piece top, and a pneumatic height adjustment. Its door has a lock with soft-close hinges, the storage area has removable trays, and the wheels roll smoothly with ball bearing casters. Some have an optional glove box holder, and others can be coordinated with a blood draw chair, a stool or a treatment table.

What are Phlebotomy Cabinets?

Phlebotomy cabinets are enclosed cabinets on wheels with two doors and shelves for storage. They are available in ocean commotion or alley cats and dogs themes for a fun atmosphere. The laminate is tear and peel resistant to provide long lasting durability. The two door cabinet has soft-close hinges, optional door locks, and two adjustable shelves. The top is ABS plastic with a textured finish for easy cleaning. The wheels have smooth rolling casters so it can travel from one place to another if needed.

What are Blood Drawing Chairs?

Blood drawing chairs are made so the child can sit at a regular chair while the blood is being drawn. They are designed with the comfort of the child in mind, with engaging graphics in the arms of each chair to distract and entertain them. Besides comforting the child, the chairs are safe and comfortable. The arm surfaces feature an easy to clean laminate to last a long time, and its edges are T-molded for convenience and comfort. The chair’s plastic surface ensures that no contaminants will penetrate the chair because it lacks seams where pathogens can gather and grow. The contoured seat is padded, the backrest has thick padding, the stationary armrest is height adjustable, and includes extra height to help reduce back strain on the staff. Under normal use, each chair can support up to 400 pounds.

Also available is an extra-wide blood drawing chair. Its extra width accommodates a parent and a child in the chair together. It has engaging graphics in the arms of the chair to distract and entertain the child, too. All the other features of the regular blood drawing chair are also part of the extra-wide chair.
